Risky Lunar Love - The Show

Luke Milton’s RISKY LUNAR LOVE, is a fun and irreverent new musical comedy, set to captivate audiences with the story of a sexy alien invader who manipulates the desires of two arch rival science-fiction writers in a bid to destroy our planet and colonise a new one!

Fresh from it’s interstate hit season, award-winning Director John Sheedy (Blasted; Unidentified Human Remains; Some Explicit Polaroid’s), Musical Director Ross Johnston (Machine Gun Fellatio), Designer Gypsy Taylor (Baz Lurhman’s Australia, Moulin Rouge; Superman Returns; Chronicles of Narnia) and highly acclaimed choreographer John O’Connell (Strictly Ballroom, Moulin Rouge, Shall We Dance, Matrix revolution, Rocky Horror Show, 2008 Academy Awards) will unleash Risky in its premiere Sydney season, transforming Carriageworks Bay 20 theatre into a Tiki wonderland, cabaret styled, Mai-Tai masterpiece!

Risky Lunar Love - The Company

504 Producers…Pty Ltd is a small production company with a big future. The company currently employs some of Australia’s best creative talent for its initial season, and is wholly owned by a group of well-experienced and influential shareholders, familiar with solid investment and expectant upon good returns.

Since its inception in January 2008, 504 Producers, funded entirely by private investment, has proven itself as a dynamic young company, achieving what many in the industry thought improbable. 504 Producers owns all intellectual property rights to Risky Lunar Love, and has expansive and comprehensive business plans to foster the future success of the ‘504’ brand. 

The board of ‘504’ is made up of three experienced young arts professionals who bring a breadth of technical, creative and business experience to the company. 

Oliver Wenn is a producer and graduate of NIDA’s B.A Performing Arts degree program. Oliver’s solid business acumen and experience in Australia’s creative arts market, in addition to his experience in raising capital, will be integral to the success of 504. 

Dr Tristan Masters is a media economist, consultant and former assistant Director of the Australian Music Prize Ltd., with a PhD by research in arts business and economics. Tristan’s solid understanding of the arts environment, and his involvement in a number of small-medium arts and music enterprises from start-up is considered to be an asset to the company.

Luke Milton is the original creator of Risky Lunar Love, and as a multiple award winning playwright he is vital to the artistic integrity of the company. Having Graduated with honours from Curtin University, Luke has held a number of positions within the Western Australian arts industry, and is currently the ARTRAGE Associate Producer of Performance.

Risky Lunar Love - The Venue

The Carriageworks is a premiere arts venue, situated in the diverse area of Newtown, located just five kilometres south west of the city’s central business district. Established through a New South Wales Government arts initiative, this three hundred-seat venue was chosen for its dramatic theatre spaces, proximity to target markets, and its reputation as the new home for contemporary arts in Sydney.
